Consulting and Coaching Services

For writers, I provide a variety of services, from creativity coaching to editorial feedback. I have nineteen years of teaching experience in creative writing, including six years of teaching in MFA creative writing programs, guiding students as they transform their manuscripts into books that are ready to query to agents and publishers. Additionally, for the past six years, I have worked one-on-one with writers on short stories, poetry collections, and novels-in-progress, offering line edits and developmental edits with either a follow-up Zoom call or an editorial letter, depending on what you prefer. I'm here to help you write the book of your heart!

For newly published authors, launching a book can be exciting...and overwhelming. I provide "book doula" services to help your new book find its audience. These include organizing book tour events and logistics, strategizing with you on social media and publicity, being a sounding board for events and readings, gathering resources for post-publication awards, and more.

For non-profit arts and writing organizations, I offer seminars and workshops centered on inclusivity, diversity, equity, and accessibility. My expertise is on innovative pedagogical practices in creative classrooms, particularly in reimagining the traditional writing workshop model. I have given presentations and professional development workshops at the University of California, Riverside; Western Colorado University; and Orange Coast College. I have worked on a two-year project with the premiere science fiction and fantasy writing organization, Clarion West, on reenvisioning their writing workshop culture.
